Do I need a car?
Most of our guests do not arrive by car so it is not essential as we can pick you up and drop you off to a local bus or train or Ireland West Airport. The nearest rail station is 20 minutes away with connections to Dublin.
What does the tuition involve?
Over the course of the two-hour class, we will work on technique, phrasing and ornamentation. You can learn many new tunes to broaden your repertoire. We will work with you in advance on the structure of your lesson.
Can you tell me about the accommodation?
Our home is in the North Mayo countryside. We have spacious en-suite bedrooms.
Breakfast is provided each morning and a home-cooked meal in the evening.
Tea and coffee is also available throughout the day.
What is there to do in the area?
There are beautiful walks in the immediate area. Mayo and South Sligo have an amazing array of historical sites and breathtaking scenic drives. The wonderful market towns of Swinford, Charlestown and Tubbercurry are close by. Ballina and Castlebar are 30 minutes by car and Westport is a 45 minute drive.
